Fitter access
Fitters focus on assigned (or claimed) jobs and notifications. How they get work depends on whether they are staff or freelance.
Who this is for
Anyone with worker kind: Fitter — staff or freelance.
Staff vs freelance
| Staff fitter | Freelance fitter | |
|---|---|---|
| How work is given | Office assigns jobs | Claim offers in the Fitter portal |
| Where they work | Restricted shop dashboard | Fitter portal |
| Billing | Counts as a billable seat | Does not use a seat |
Invite either type from Settings → Fitters. You can mix both in one organisation.
Access (staff dashboard)
| Area | Access |
|---|---|
| Jobs | Assigned jobs only |
| Inbox | Yes |
| Settings | Profile, Security, Notifications, Calendar (subscribe link) |
| Shop calendar, Customers, Quotes, etc. | No |
Freelance fitters see a similar job-focused experience inside the Fitter portal, including offers they can claim.
What a fitter can do on an assigned job (raise issues, upload files, comment, submit the fitter form, edit fit time) is controlled by the shop under Settings → Field access. Defaults allow uploads, comments, forms, and schedule edits; raising issues is off until an admin turns it on. See Field access.
Fitters can still put their fit appointments on a phone or Outlook calendar via Settings → Calendar — see Calendar subscribe.
