Raise and receive a PO
Raise from a job
- On the job, open Materials and assign items as Need for job (with an order-by date).
- Click Raise PO, pick the supplier, and select the need-order lines.
- Create the draft PO — you are taken to the PO detail page.
- Click Send order when you have placed the order with the yard. Linked materials move to On order.
Raise from Purchasing
- Open Purchasing → New PO.
- Choose supplier and expected date, then add one or more stock lines (material and quantity). Use Add line for more colours or thicknesses on the same order.
- Create the draft. On a draft you can still add, change, or remove lines, then Save lines.
- Click Send order.
Send the order
- Send order opens a prefilled email (to, subject, and message listing each line). Edit the wording if you need to, then send.
- If the supplier has no email on file, CutBench marks the order as ordered without email. Use Print for a paper or phone order.
- You can also choose Mark as ordered only from the compose screen if you already contacted the yard another way.
Receive a delivery
Whole load (recommended)
- Open the PO from Purchasing and click Mark delivered.
- Set an optional bay / location for the drop.
- Each slab on a line appears as its own row (for example qty 3 → three rows). Quantity stock (adhesives and similar) stays one row with qty arrived.
- Mark each piece Good, Broken, Missing, or Leave on order, then Confirm delivery.
- CutBench creates shop codes for good and broken slabs. The same screen shows a large list to write on the edge, plus Print side wraps (and optional yard sheets). You can still change good / broken / missing there if you spot a crack while marking.
Broken slabs are kept as damaged stock (not free for jobs). Missing pieces are recorded without creating a slab. Leave on order keeps that piece open for the next delivery.
Single line
On each open line you can still click Receive for a one-off fix (enter slab code and sizes for slab-tracked items).
Job materials linked to received good pieces show as in house. You no longer mark “on order” or “received” by hand on the job.
