Import and export
Move data in and out of CutBench.
Who can do this
Organisation admins use Settings → Import & Export.
CSV import wizard
- Open Settings → Import & Export and choose Open import wizard.
- Pick what you are importing:
- Customers
- Jobs
- Slabs / stock (new inventory pieces)
- Refresh stock prices (update costs on materials you already have)
- Upload a CSV (column names do not need to match CutBench — you map them next).
- Map each CutBench field to a column. Moraware-style headers are suggested when recognised.
- Review the preview, then commit.
Customer emails, job refs, and slab codes that already exist are skipped on create imports (not updated).
Refresh stock prices
Use this when a stockist sends an updated price list and you need to update materials already in CutBench — not to add new slabs.
- Choose Refresh stock prices and upload the CSV.
- Map unit cost (required). Map SKU when the file has it — that is the fastest exact match. Otherwise map brand, colour, and size so CutBench can suggest matches.
- On preview:
- Exact SKU or slab-code matches are accepted automatically.
- Suggested matches need you to confirm (or skip the row).
- Check before → after for unit cost, end-customer sell price, and showroom sell price.
- Optionally update sell prices from the new unit cost with a percent markup or a fixed amount on top of cost (applied to both end-customer and showroom prices).
- Confirm and apply. Only matched rows are updated; no new stock is created.
