Payment terms

Define how deposits and milestones are invoiced when quotes are approved.

Milestone templates

Each template lists milestones with a label, percentage, trigger, and due days (when the invoice is due after it is sent — separate from when CutBench sends it).

Common setups:

  • End customer 50/50 — 50% deposit on quote accepted, 50% balance on fit
  • Showroom 0/100 — no deposit, 100% balance on fit (often with longer due days)

Assign templates by customer type (homeowner, showroom, trade, etc.), or override on a specific customer.

Milestone triggers

Triggers control which stage a milestone belongs to:

  • Quote accepted — typically the deposit
  • Fit complete — typically the remainder / balance (or 100% for showrooms)
  • Days after fit / Manual — available for custom setups

Deposit invoice timing

For deposit milestones, choose when CutBench sends the deposit invoice:

  • When quote is accepted (default) — send as soon as the quote is approved
  • Days before job date — hold the deposit until a set number of days before templating or fit (once that date is on the job)

Organisation defaults apply to all templates unless a template overrides them.

Remainder / balance invoice timing

For the balance (or 100% after-fit) milestone, choose when CutBench sends that invoice:

  • When fitting is completed (default) — sent when the fitter form is submitted
  • Days before planned fit — send a set number of days before the job’s planned fit date (once that date is set)

Use early send when you want the remainder paid before install day; keep the default if you invoice after fit.
